La fuente de la informaci\u00f3n utilizada corresponde a las series de inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica regionalizada elaboradas por la Divisi\u00f3n de Evaluaci\u00f3n Social de Inversiones del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social y Familia, las cuales fueron preparadas con base en los balances presupuestarios de las instituciones y la informaci\u00f3n proporcionada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Presupuestos del Ministerio de Hacienda. En la primera secci\u00f3n del documento se examina la evoluci\u00f3n global de la inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica en la RMS durante el per\u00edodo 2011-2021, su significaci\u00f3n en el volumen de la actividad econ\u00f3mica regional, su importancia relativa en la inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica total del pa\u00eds y su expresi\u00f3n en t\u00e9rminos per c\u00e1pita. La segunda secci\u00f3n revisa la composici\u00f3n de la inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica regional desagreg\u00e1ndola en sus principales categor\u00edas: inversi\u00f3n sectorial, decisi\u00f3n regional, municipalidades y empresas p\u00fablicas. Luego se examinan con mayor detenimiento los componentes de cada una de estas categor\u00edas y su comportamiento durante el per\u00edodo de an\u00e1lisis. La tercera y \u00faltima secci\u00f3n, contiene las principales conclusiones que es posible extraer a partir del an\u00e1lisis realizado en las secciones
