Como se sabe, el PIB es una medida de la actividad econ\u00f3mica de un pa\u00eds o regi\u00f3n que corresponde a la valoraci\u00f3n a precios de mercado de la totalidad de los bienes y servicios de consumo final producidos dentro de las fronteras de ese pa\u00eds o regi\u00f3n durante un per\u00edodo determinado, t\u00edpicamente un trimestre o un a\u00f1o. El documento est\u00e1 estructurado en cinco secciones. En la primera de ellas se efect\u00faa el c\u00e1lculo del PIB perc\u00e1pita por regi\u00f3n y se examina la posici\u00f3n relativa de la RMS en el contexto del pa\u00eds. La segunda secci\u00f3n analiza el desempe\u00f1o reciente de la actividad econ\u00f3mica regional y el impacto que sobre \u00e9sta tuvo la pandemia del Covid-19 declarada durante el primer trimestre de 2020.\u00a0 En la tercera secci\u00f3n se estudia de manera resumida el impacto de la crisis sobre las diferentes ramas de actividad econ\u00f3mica regional. \u00a0La cuarta secci\u00f3n presenta la trayectoria seguida por el consumo de los hogares durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os y la magnitud en la que \u00e9ste fue afectado tanto por la crisis social de fines de 2019 como por la posterior pandemia asociada al Covid-19. La quinta -y \u00faltima- secci\u00f3n presenta las principales conclusiones que es posible extraer con base al an\u00e1lisis desarrollado en las secciones
