Se trata de un \u00edndice sint\u00e9tico cuyo valor num\u00e9rico permite dimensionar el nivel de desarrollo relativo alcanzado por la poblaci\u00f3n de una comuna. As\u00ed, el valor del IPS obtenido por cada comuna s\u00f3lo se entiende en relaci\u00f3n con los valores de dicho \u00edndice en las restantes comunas. Este documento constituye una nueva actualizaci\u00f3n de los indicadores del IPS manteniendo la metodolog\u00eda y fuentes de informaci\u00f3n utilizadas en la versi\u00f3n anterior, las cuales son
